PADI IDC - PADI Instructor Examination in Bali
The big day arrives and the nerves are there. At Blue Season Bali we do our utmost to ensure you can relax for the PADI IE knowing you have been well prepared for the IE.
In the morning we do an IDC counseling session where we will go over your paperwork and make sure everything is ready for the IE. We will make sure you have a relaxed morning, a nice lunch and ensure that you have everything you need for the first day of the IE. We will take you to the orientation on the first day of the PADI IE, normally around 1.30pm in the afternoon. Our group of PADI Instructor candidates and IDC team will participate in the orientation where the PADI Examiner will brief you on the next few days.
The PADI IE in Bali normally is scheduled as follows:
PADI IE - Day 1
During the first afternoon you will complete the orientation and then sit for the PADI Dive Theory exams and the PADI Standards and Procedures Exam. You will also be given all of your assignments for knowledge development, confined water and open water. For both of these sets of exams you need to score 75% in order to pass. Don't worry, during the PADI IDC we do lots of dive theory and standards practice exams.
PADI Dive Theory Online was introduced into the PADI system in order to help people who had not studied their dive theory for a while, or who have completed the new PADI Divemaster course (2011). This theory is a requirement for the PADI IDC and so it is important that candidates come prepared to the IDC. Dive theory is not actually part of the PADI IDC so although we will help you with remediation, we do expect that you have been studying your dive theory - Physics, Physiology, RDP and Decompression Theory, Equipment and General skills & the Environment. When you have finished your exams you will then be free to leave and prepare for day two. Here you can use our classroom facilities to prepare your presentations ready for tomorrow. Working as a team with your fellow IDC candidates, this will not take too long.
PADI IE - Day 2
During day 2 you will complete both the confined water section and knowledge development section.
During confined water you will complete your confined water presentation which means you have to teach one skill from the PADI Open Water Course, or PADI Rescue diver course. You will also have a skills session that takes five of the twenty basic scuba skills. Again, this is nothing new as our PADI Course directors will have prepared you for these presentations.
The knowledge development session will involve you presenting one prescriptive teaching presentation in the classroom. Exactly the same as what you have done during the IDC; there is no difference at the IE.
PADI IE - Day 3
Almost over! All that is left on day three is the open water section where by you will be evaluated on your PADI Rescue exercise #7 plus you will give an open water teaching presentation combining two open water skills. This is where you really get to show the PADI Examiner how much you have learnt over the past few weeks. Great control, confidence and teaching ability comes as standard with a Blue Season Bali IDC.
